Recipes and Potato Chips

Recipes and Potato Chips, hmmm, do they go together? Sure people eat potato chips, but how often does your recipe call for putting potato chips in it? Here’s a fun little recipe for Potato Chip Cookies! Wait a minute, slow down…potato chips and cookies, combined? You betcha, this one is a great little recipe you’ll want to bake up. Tell your kids you’re making a new recipe with a secret ingredient, and see if they can guess what the ingredient is!

What you’ll need for your potato chip cookies:

1 cup of crushed potato chips
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup of sugar (1/2 gets mixed in, 1/2 gets put aside)
1 tsp baking soda

1 cup butter (softened)
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla

Preheat the over to 350 degrees F

1. Mix your potato chips, all of your flour, HALF of your sugar, and your baking soda together.

2. Cream your butter with your egg and vanilla.

3. Combine all your ingredients together.

4. Make small balls and space them apart on your cookie sheet.

5. You can use a spoon, fork or bottom of a cup that’s been dipped in sugar to flatten the cookies before baking.

6. Cook for between 10-15 mins, I opt for 12, but everyone’s oven is a bit different.

With the holidays coming up, this is a perfect time to try something new. I’ll bet most people are used to seeing butter cookies, sugar cookies or chocolate chip cookies at the dessert table, but wouldn’t it be fun if you were the person to jazz it up with something different? People will be talking, and will be thrilled when they hear about a cookie they haven’t tried before. Will people guess the secret ingredients? I’ll never tell…
