Baked, Microwave Potato options- delicious simplicity.

The most basic way to cook a potato is to simply bake one. You wash your potato, and poke it a few times with a fork. Some people like to wrap their potato in foil, but this isn’t necessary. You can place the potato on the oven rack at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Another option that many people use is to spray the potato with olive oil and then press salt into it. I personally like sea salt, since it has a courser texture. The potato will be nice and soft inside, while the skin will have a nice texture. Many people choose to eat the skin, and it’s loaded with fiber, while others toss the skin aside and just eat the inside of the potato.

How long to bake a potato in the microwave:

Another option is to cook the potato in the microwave oven. Due to everyone’s microwaves being a little different your times may vary. If I microwave a potato to be similar to a baked potato, I put it in for about 10 minutes after wrapping it in “press and seal” wrap. If I don’t seal it, I’ll microwave it a little longer. I like a soft potato, so I prefer it to be overcooked than undercooked.

Baked potato grill recipe:
Roll your potato in foil to prevent overcooking if there’s a flare up on the grill. Cook your potato on the grill for about 45 minutes.

Now you know how long to bake a baked potato!
